School-Based Policing Conference
July 31 - August 3, 2007
Ramada Hotel & Convention Center, Topeka, Kansas
The K.D.O.A. and KASRO are again partnering to present the annual school-based policing conference. It will start on Tuesday, July 31 and conclude on Friday, August 3, 2007. The conference site is the Ramada in Topeka, KS and room rates will be $75.00 per night.
This conference is designed to provide valuable training for Kansas and surrounding regions School Based Policing personnel. The convenient Topeka Ramada Inn location for the conference makes it affordable and accessible for nearby agency personnel who may not be able to afford to attend a National conference out of state. The organizers of this conference learned a lot from past conferences and we are confident that this year's conference will be even more informative and attentive to attendees needs.
Special Kansas School Based Policing Conference room rates are available for attendees. Plan on making reservations early so you don't get caught without a room at this special Kansas School Based Policing Conference rate. Agencies paying for lodging with a Purchase Order need to make arrangements with hotel two weeks prior to conference.
Accomodations at the Topeka Ramada Inn are $75.00 per night. Please call the Topeka Ramada Inn directly at 1-800-432-2424 before 5:00 p.m. daily. Please do not reserve a room using the Ramada Inn website.

Nominate the Kansas D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year
Do you know a D.A.R.E. Officer who has performed above and beyond?! Please share the commitment of this officer by submitting them for the 2007 Kansas D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year Award. The details of this officer's commitment should be submitted in a short written statement describing how this officer represents the D.A.R.E. Program in the community. The selected officer will be recognized at the 2007 Kansas School Based Policing Conference Luncheon, August 3rd, 2007. Submissions need to be submitted to a KDOA board member by July 1, 2007 for consideration.

Law Enforcement Car Show
The School Based Policing Conference will sponsor a Police Car Show at the 2007 School Based Policing Conference. Any marked Law Enforcement vehicle is eligible to enter into one of many different categories.
Speakers and Vendors Needed
KASRO is looking for quality speakers and vendors for the Kansas School Based Policing Conference in Topeka, Kansas on July 31 thru August 3, 2007. If you know someone who has a topic they would like to speak on that is related to school safety or could be of interest to school resource officers or school administrators, or you know of any vendors who would like to come and set up at the conference anytime during that week, please let us know.
